Rights of Way GIS data

You can download this for use with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) via the link below. You will need a suitable GIS application to use it.

The data is free of charge and licensed on terms equivalent to Ordnance Survey OpenData™. By downloading the data you are agreeing to the terms of an OpenData™ licence. If you do not agree, you should not download or use the data.

The data is supplied as a .zip archive in ESRI ®Shapefile format depicting lines that represent rights of way. The data is not offered in any other format, if you require a different format you will need to convert the data yourself.

The data is based on the Definitive Map of Public Rights of Way in Hertfordshire and has been altered over the years to show diversions and modifications since the original maps of the 1950s. Please follow this User Guide which will help you get the best from the data and avoid misunderstanding and misinterpretation.

There may be some legal changes (orders that change the public rights of way) which are not included in this data.
